We’re a strange pair, my husband and I. I travel the country in search of exotic chocolates. He travels far and wide in search of good beer. I ask, “Are the beans from Ecuador? Is it single source, small batch, bean to bar?” My husband talks hops, vintage, IPA, and stout.
Lucky for us, the proprietors of these wonderful little foodie finds know their neighborhood and are eager to share their favorite haunts. After spending at least an hour stocking up on enough chocolate to keep me happy for a very long time, Byron, owner of the Chocolate Library (greatest idea since sliced bread), picked up the telephone and rang up the proprietor of Good Beer to let him know we were on our way. I say, dump the guides and just take to the streets. One good find leads to the next.
How could you not be drawn in by a sign that says, Free Chocolate Tasting All Day? And that we did. Here’s what I like about this place: there is nothing pretentious about it. The owner simply loves chocolate and his passion for “good” chocolate can be seen in every little cubicle. This isn’t mainstream chocolate that you can find anywhere. At the Chocolate Library, you get lost in a collection of intriguing packages and exotic flavors, much like getting lost in a good book. You forget to come up for air. It was our anniversary so I picked up a little something for the hubby.
Oh yes, there’s a lot to review. I’ll take my time, savor every bite, and keep you posted as I work my way through this delectable mix of exquisite chocolate.
And perhaps my husband will do a guest post on the beer.
A local brewhouse in Nashville used to hold beer & chocolate tastings! Such a cool idea. Glad you and your hubby had a good time 🙂
Beer and chocolate! Thanks for sharing. . .
Guess what Sue Ann… Stout (some with chocolate as part of the description) goes GREAT with chocolate! 🙂
